SUPERGIRL

Director: Craig Gillespie, Cinematographer: Rob Hardy ASC BSC

FPV Pilot: Luke Bannister , Aerial DP: Phil Arntz, 1st AC: Luke Selway

A major DCU production shot on IMAX cameras at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, with location work in Scotland and Iceland — the second film in James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe.

The aerial work required a mix of systems tailored to very different environments. Luke Bannister flew cinematic FPV with propeller guards for exterior sequences, switching to the fully ducted Pizza drone for interior set work around cast and stunt performers on wires — where proximity to people demands the highest level of safety. The Inspire 3 provided additional coverage where precision repeatability was required.

"The Hybrid FPV drone flown by pilot Luke Bannister unlocks a huge amount of creative possibilities. It can be used as far more than just a traditional drone platform — it seamlessly blends movement through three-dimensional space across every axis of motion. It can achieve traditional aerial work, shots you'd normally associate with tracking vehicles, crane moves, and dynamic close proximity action all within the same toolset."
