DOWNTON ABBEY THE GRAND FINALE

The third and final chapter of the Downton Abbey film series. The Helicopter Girls' relationship with Ben Smithard BSC goes back to the first film at Highclere Castle — a collaboration that has continued across multiple productions since.

Highclere is one of the most photographed locations in British film and television. Finding new angles and a different feel to the traditional house shots required genuine creative thinking from the aerial team.

For the horse racing sequence, Hybrid FPV delivered close tracking shots at speed — a 130mm lens on the RED Raptor producing solid, stable imagery that would have been impossible any other way. Heavy lift and FPV flew simultaneously, giving the editors two completely different perspectives on the same action.
